About Us!
Welcome to Small Batch Labradors, where passion meets purpose in the world of Labrador Retrievers. Founded by Nicole and Tyler in 2023, our journey began with a shared love for this versatile breed.
Nicole's affinity for Labradors traces back to her childhood, but it wasn't until Shock, our first chocolate Lab, entered our lives that our breeding program began to take shape. With the addition of Wednesday, our hopeful foundation bitch boasting an impressive multi-purpose pedigree, we're committed to upholding the breed's standard and promoting their exceptional versatility.
Before dedicating ourselves to breeding, Nicole spent her twenties immersed in dog rescue and handling various breeds. It was a local dog show that reignited her passion for Labradors, revealing a deep-seated connection to the breed's intelligence, athleticism, and family-friendly nature.
At Small Batch Labradors, we prioritize excellence across multiple disciplines. We actively participate in AKC events, including conformation, dock diving, and retriever hunt tests. We are just starting to dip our toes into UKC in 2024 and 2025. Looking ahead, our goals for 2024-2025 include a AKC Junior Hunt and Senior Hunt title and expanding into shed hunt, rally, nose work and/or barn hunt.
Our philosophy is rooted in showcasing Labradors that excel in the ring, in the field and in real-world settings. We believe in preserving the breed's true essence, rejecting trends that compromise their natural abilities and go against the breed standard. Through our efforts, we aim to inspire others to embrace the full potential of the correct Labrador Retriever, bridging the gap between show and field lines.
Join us on this exciting journey as we remind everyone what it means to be a Labrador Retriever. Together, let's celebrate their remarkable versatility and encourage others to pursue excellence on every front.
